Hi there,
on above subject nothing to find on dutch gs forum, so a try overseas...

a few weeks ago, while riding, i ran in to weird elektrical malfunction: al meters and indicator signals turn on-and of as if the computer self test starts over infinitely and in random order... :(

weird part is that engine keeps running normal, lights and indicator work ok also, but ABS and Servo brakes are death. Heated grips also dead...

brought bike to dealer, they claimed to have spend 4 hrs. to find a wiring problem and claimed they've fixed it (300 eur. 'repair' ...ouch!).

rode another 1000kms. and yesterday , after a day drive: bingo! same problem again: meters and indicator lights go crazy etc.

when switching contact on, bike refuses self test... engine starts normally.

enyone recognises this problem in UK?

(r1200 gs, march 2004, 14000kms.)

cheers,
Sander

Gee, can only UK based people answer?? :mmmm

This is almost certainly a failure of the ZFE module. I would think you could push BMW to cover it under warranty. Especially with only 14K km on the bike. In the US you certainly could. Can't speak for the there though. Otherwise it's probably going to cost you about 400 EUR plus labor. :(
