Just got my bike back from Pidcocks after
New engine and gearbox oil seal
New front plate
It's a June 2004 bike with 24000 miles so out of warranty but all done for free. These things shouldn't go wrong but it was a big relief when Pidcocks persuaded BMW to do it for free.
They also did a couple of recall things (banjo bolt and something else I've forgotten), a new s/w for the aux socket drop out and "adjusted the clutch" as I'd been complaining it seemed to stick/drag making downshifts a bit tricky especially when hot. I didn't know there was any clutch adjustment and they said the clutch plate was not contaminated so it wasn't the oil leak.
So I'm now feeling considerably happy about the beemer
and might even swap it for another next year (maybe an RT as I do a lot of touring and never go off road, not too sure as the RT always seems like an old man's bike - which I am but don't like to admit it to myself!)
