I'm finding the riding in the low suspension mode on the 1250 GSA does fek the handling up a bit, when in Auto its a bit of a stretch so I had a £450 brain fart.
I bought the low heated seat option thinking it would just look seamless and be a thoughtful addition. It doesn't. it isn't . Is this my only option ?
Infill ?
It looks shit.
30mm gap between the front and rear seats-what's that all about.IMG_3467.JPEGIMG_3462.JPEG
Height wise on the centre stand it does measure 930mm to the normal seat with the low it shows 900 mm. Measured with a level across the seat so the gain is OK.
But by fek it looks crap.
Material pattern is different-looks obvious, About as seamless as silence of the lambs buffalo bills efforts.

I guess I have no other option.

There is two settings on the rear seat so you can pull it forward to meet the front seat. If there is a gap at the front I’ve used a piece of foam glued to the underside to close the gap.

Mmm my OCD kicks in here. Same problem with GS normal seats. And that includes the horrid gap between tank and seat. The solution is Hi at the front to get rid of the tank gap and Hi at rear to get rid of gap between pillion seat. I can only imagine that a low seat means no solution.

Of course you could always buy a Rallye seat.

I did look at the Rallye seat but no advantage
  • Reduced seat height of 860 mm (-20 mm)

You've got the rear seat set high,

Look at the two holes it can locate in

push it forward and down

Not really much of an issue is it, but cant you buy a bench seat option from BMW for the Adventure? this would avoid a gap.

That’s a thing? That’ll be why mines so high! I spotted there was a slot in both directions but couldn’t work out why!

Well there's a thing !

For a couple of years now I've been riding around with a big gap between my sargent front seat and my pillion seat.

I've had the seats on and off loads of times and never saw you could alter the fore/aft position of the pillion seat to close the gap and lower the pillion seat height.

Just been out to my bike and adjusted it, it looks so much better.

The UKGSer collective teaches me something new yet again. :)

I’m assuming that’s ride the fekin motorcycle.
Well here’s the thing.
I’m struggling to recover from double knee surgery. Not the knees but my thighs where they were tourniquet. I can’t get the muscle mass back.
So every little helps.
And thanks for the comment but FRO.
I’m sure you’ll get that. 🤣👍

Definitely tongue in cheek Bud as I had no idea the pillion seat could move position either!!

If it's knee comfort you're after have you looked at the dropped footrests? I think Wunderlich or similar do them.

The great thing about these bikes is their ability to be tuned to fit with all the accessories out there. my sympathy on double knee surgery - wishing you a full & speedy recovery.. (y)

Here is an option. Get a cool cover for either the rider seat or the pillion. Or both.
Then with the seats adjusted they don’t look mis matched.

I have a normal height heated comfort seat for sale. Are they really £450?

Went for a ride this morning - just 60 Mile potter.
Seats not as comfortable as the original but ok.
Dynamic mode all the time no issues with that which was my primary goal just to get both feet down when stopped to spread the load on my thighs and not riding in low suspension mode.
Knees were / are good with the length so all in good result.
When the power is back - if it comes back I’ll swap the seats back.
Thanks for the comments-👍

yea I know so was mine. I’ve been here long enough to know the crack. 😜

Double knee op - ouch ! Are you still in rehab post-op ?

Muscle only grows when provided a stimulus plus the protein your body needs to build it, and adequate rest to repair.

Some form of resistance training like kettlebell squats (or just body weight callisthenics) can work wonders for fast twitch fibres, as can sustained cardio based exercise for slow twitch fibres such as indoor rowing, mountain biking, swimming amongst many others.

The obvious other factor is time, it won’t regrow overnight.

Good luck with rebuilding your leg strength and mobility/flexibility, if you put the work in it will happen.
