UK again Pah!..
Just picked the bike up with the SM wheels fitted, as I am running it in it was a *nice* ride and slimy wet roads didnt help, but it was good, the bike feels small, light and nimble - quite different to the 1150 Adv. I can see I am going to enjoy this :)

Question time

What alarm system do people fit, do they bother? It was due to have a B*W one fitted but apparently they wont go, and the Meta alarm guy freaked as he could not find room

Brakes - yeah right! I am used to a Beringer 6 pot on a bike this size so I guess I need to adapt, or has anyone tried different pads? This is a bit unfair as the current system only has 120 miles on it so they are hardly bedded in yet, but I have to ask...

Exhaust note is a but sanitised as well, do standard 1200 GS aftermarket cans fit or do I need to look for HP2 sepcific?

Still a stunning bike though :thumb

The HP2 has a really weak battery so an alarm will probably drain it in double quick time. If you really need an alarm go for it but if it's just for peace of mind and not regularly parked on the street, I wouldn't worry it. A good lock and the inbuilt immobilizer will probably be just as good. I have two Xena locks with built in alarms and they seem to do the same thing.

I've had the Wunderlich big wavey discs on mine from new and not got any concerns about the brakes, definately much more power available than the grip from the tyres!

Nice thing is they are very progressive, require a good squeeze to get the braking power on road, but makes them much easier to use off road.

I have also found that a good squeeze works wonders and it seems to be bedding in nicely now, the back brake is however a different matter....

Not only have you made me incredibly jealous by buying an HP2 but you now tell us you've got 17" wheels - you b@astard :thumb

You know, I really am going to have to come down and pick up that can for the Armstrong..............................

Yup, they threw the 17" wheels in for 350 quid and the Enduro pack - so bearing in mind the whole bike only had 95 miles on the clock I was happy. I have only tried the 17" so far and it seems to work rather well. It has a minor oil leak fromthe right hand cam chain tensioner so that will need sorting this weekend but otherwise it is a nice bike, front end is harsh as hell on our local roads so that needs sorting as well.

I will have a dig in the workshop and sort the can out and anything else I can find, then you are welcome to come down and have a play :D

got the full remus system and 17" wheels on my bike and its bloody great fun.

nice loud sound at the moment that will get better soon as i'm having the can shortened by about six inches:blast

17" wheels are great fun, I did mention a full system to my dealer and he whispered 1400 quid so I ran away

I do need a different can though, the standard is a bit ermm, the word evades me.
