Certainly the first trail out of the town is a BOAT:

It was the trail with the bomb-hole:

The same trail in which Phil wished his bike was a boat!

I've pretty much checked all the route and, actually it's mostly 'whites' (UCRs) although this short section:

is actually a RUPP.

However, as I said earlier, RUPPs in Wales are still OK - besides, I can't see too many rozzers chasing after us!!

Do they show BOATs and RUPPs? And can you laminate them?

We had some copies last year, but in the pissing wind and rain they soon became papier maché!

MemoryMap is new to me.

They are standard 1:50,000 OS in detail. I appear to be limited by the application to A4 or smaller printing, despite access to printers/plotters capable of bigger and better. So last years loop would need to be accross 6 sheets of landscape.

I could get them laminated I guess- I normally use a water proof map case, but haven't tried this with prints from MM.

Having now studied the aforesaid OS map, I propose that we should aim to complete a short loop from the hotel starting at, say 13.00hrs, on the Friday (16 June).

The proposed route totals 46 miles of which 12½ miles is entirely on BOATs. One short section is on the Wye Valley Walk (waypoints Fri A to Fri B), but I cannot find any reference to a TRO on the net, so hopefully it is OK.

On Saturday we'll run the complete loop that we ran in October - some 85½ miles of which about 31 miles is 'off-road'.

Is that OK with everyone?
