Are we going for a 05.30hrs start?

Greg

Picking up the van 5pm on Thursday, so any time after that is fine with me. :thumb

Guys, more seriously.....

I'm all up for getting a bunch of us there on Friday morning so we can get an extra day's riding in ... but where are we going to ride? Has anyone got any marked-up maps of the area?

Greg

From the hotel website

"On Sunday after another excellent breakfast, you are free to plan and ride your own routes or you can ride on 600 acres of private land (which has a 10 mile enduro track) until the afternoon, when it's back to the hotel to enable you to load your machines and clean up for your journey home."

Perhaps we can play on this Friday ?

I've got the os maps on multimap, there are lots of boats around the area of the hotel. Do we want to go to the hotel first, or should be meet up somewhere east of the hotel?

Dave

Firstly, don't put maps on this thread - you know they just confuse the Squadron Leader!

:reynolds

Secondly, answer a few of those e-mails you have open!!

;)

Greg

What are you taking to Wales?

Ok

Do we need to coordinate who is taking what so we all don't turn up with too many tools. Here's my starter for 10 of what I am planning to take.

Spare inner tube (Front and Rear)
GPS
Tyre lever's x2
Spare clutch lever
Spare friont brake lever
Centre lift stand
Tyre weld
Assortment of spanners and sockets.

Camera
Helmet Bullet cam and recorder
lap top to download maps

Dave

Good initiative!

I was planning to take:

  • 'Feck-off' quality tyre irons
  • front & rear tubes
  • A bicycle pump with car-valve type inflator tube
  • Camera
  • GPS
  • Spare clutch & brake levers for a DR-Z 400S (different to the E)

I normally carry this lot in my ruck-sack, but we can leave the duplicated items in the van for backup.

I think I'd better get a few bits for my bike...will order a spare brake & clutch lever and inner tubes tomorrow...anything else I should have?

Nadeem

Unless you particularly want them, you don't need to buy inner tubes - there will be enough to go around.

Greg

Thanks Greg - if there's anything else that is a 'must have' let me know please.

OK guys,

here's the full & up-to-date list of who's coming on the Welsh off-road trip on the 28th to the 30th October:

KTM 520
Greg Masters
Clive
Riverking
Roy (Blue Sweeper)
Roy's mate
Steve Hartshorne
Charlie Batty
Nadeem
Johnny Boxer
mr Tickle
Me.

The hotel details are:

The Lion Royal Hotel
West Street
Rhayader
Powys LD6 5AB

Tel: 01597 810202
Contact: Mary Powell
www.lionroyal.co.uk

KTM Dave & Greg are travelling together, as are Nadeem, mr Tickle & me. We are planning on leaving very early on the Friday morning, so that we can get there in time for a little off-road 'exploring' before retiring to the hotel bar/restaurant for the evening. If anyone else is planning on going early, I suggest that we meet at the hotel around lunchtime. This will give us time to check-in and get our bike gear on, and then have a bimble about.

Looking forward to it already :thumb

Phil

I've got the map you sent me, but can't work out where we are going!
