Welsh weekend on the lanes...

looks like you had a great weekend. Where can I get details of the BOATS you rode?

Try your local TRF group or book a day out on a guided trail ride :thumb2

The guy who took us out has spent a lot of time and effort finding and checking if the lanes are legal to ride :clap

So with that in mind it would be wrong to post on where they all are :nenau

If you keep an eye on the offroad section or the mudslinger section there are rideouts happening all over the UK :thumb2

I must try and ride that rocky one through the forest, I keep forgetting about it and looping back south too soon.

Looks like you had a lot of fun!

Excuse me gentlemen but do you mind keeping the noise down in the morning!

hiya zzrman,
what i'd do if i was you is follow what pipster said or ask people on here to take you out,
the are more than a few offers in the off road section where people take you out for free:) so take a peww in that area and i'm sure with in a few weeks you could piggy back onto a ride out somewhere , after all the lanes in the Uk offer all sorts of fun with wonderful views of out find British country side:thumb.

ps when i started laning it was very hard to find people to take you out, it's loads easyer these days.

all the best:)

Here you go Rudie how to get your tyre off on the trail :thumb2 Carry a spare tube no need to feck about trying to plug it...:D

lol,
i had my tools with me;) plus i knew you had loads with you old Man:D:D
after all you took almost as much time Rusty to get ready in the mornings you must have been carrying enough for all the BMWs on tour:D:D

Thanks for the advice. Independently of Pipster's post I had already found the Welshtrail rides site and had contacted them. I'm trying to get my mates together for a day out. From the photos it seems to me that of the two routes they offer you did the more difficult one up around Barmouth so that is the one we will opt for. We all have enduro bikes with dare I say it a little bit more offroad capability than a GS and if a GS can do the more difficult then we should have no problem.

Don't count on it :augie:augie:augie

KTM 7 650 Dak couldn't do this one. We've both ridden proper pogos and both agreed that they would be a struggle up this particular bit. Do-able but you'll need friends :thumb

Was that part of the ride-out referred to in this ride report? if so, that is pretty challenging, whatever you're riding.

Did this lane last April no drama :thumb2 they go on about bikes and four wheel drives cutting the lanes up - this was storm damage after the fecked up weather we've been having this year

The lanes at the back of Barmouth can be done in a loop going the easyer way anti clock wise:) , but still has a testing part;):)
but do try and do them on a clear day if your looking for great views to which these lanes have plenty of, please please stay on the track/ lane as the local farmer goes nuts if you do not:)
myself i love the lanes around that area for some strange rason when it's raining :D:D

I never took the guys last weekend on the above lanes because some of the hills would have been far too much / take too much time up for what i'd got planned that weekend.

but do get your self out that way it's so nice :thumb:thumb:)

all the best:)
