What a day - is this place GS heaven

Hold on! Who was Pikey Dave? I spent the first 18 years of my life in Wareham!!!

So you escaped then?! I've only been here 3yrs. Not actually in Wareham but live between Sandford and Holton Heath. Just been for a pint in The Horse and Groom in town though.
I was black GSAdv with momo open face helmet

Now if Darkhorse's wheelie photo had been a video....
And now I remember someone was hurt and his modelling days are over!

Anyone got a group photo to post?

Thanks Neil or arranging the day.... an excellant day out and nice meeting you all. Thanks for looking after me. hopefully will put a name to those faces sometime, but in the meantime hopefully a pic of Ken taking a rest and another getting a refresher

Honestly, it'll be to easy on a pogo stick -

we talked about it today, the place is perfect for a GS :thumb

Can you manage next weekend then Neil...? Two takers already....

Next sunday ????????????????????

There's so much more that we didn't do today , but the place covers such a huge area you can't do it all in a day .

OK – here’s the pics of the boys getting down and dirrrrrty. You know you all want to next Sunday :mmmm :mmmm :mmmm

As has already been said it was a truly exceptional day. Fantastic weather and just riding round and round a few hundred square miles of tracks and fields – don’t get any better children :D

The gathering at the start

Nice views – someone was already having fun - see the smile

DSC04323.JPG

Most of the track area was dry chalky shale, the odd muddy area caught some out – mind you they were the brave tourance shod tossers :thumb

DSC04324.JPG

Real hardcore we were – stopped every hour or so for a fag/drink/eat break

DSC04325.JPG

And to gasp in admiration at our glorious leaders battle scar – gained as he led us through a frikkin forest

DSC04327.JPG

Some were more hardcore than others :D

DSC04328.JPG

Then we came round one of the hills and found this! You can see the scale of the hills by looking at the riders already on the top - I’d pay to go ride this kind of terrain.

Steptoe hammers up the hill

What came up had to go down – Donny descends

Then I heard Steptoe say to Darkhorse “If you do that again I’ll never call you gay again” or words to that effect.

Darkhorse disappeared down the hill and left Steppers at the top

And came back over doing this

It is big and it certainly is ferking clever

DSC04333.JPG

Then we found water !! You know how kids always splash through the puddles? ....we were kids

And the results

Rest time – again

By the way – Darkhorse was riding the new 1200Adv. Suitably disguised in case we met any MCN papparatzi :D

Back to getting dirrrrty again:

Thanks for a great days riding. 1st time in 20 years I have ridden off road. I rode up that hill fairly easily , but when I went to ride down ! I rode over the brow of the hill and stopped . I was scared. I converted to Christianity ,Judiaism and Islam immeadiately. I set off and made it to the bottom of the hill safely. I do not have the vocabulary to describe the sense of achievement I had on reaching the bottom of that hill.
Thanks to all you guys for the tips and encouragement today. I look forward to the next day offroading.

Donnie
