Autocom install - GS1200 LC.
I purchased the relay dongle from Chainspeed as advised.
Arrived today, so I set about installing the Autocom and radios on the bike.
All went quite well until I came to find a suitable switched live to operate the relay.
Tempted to use the 7.5A fuse under the riders seat, but Sam at Chainspeed advised I connected to the rear light supply as he has had no problems in doing so on a number of installs.
Had to remove half of the bike to get at it! :-(
Finally soldered a connection and re-built everything.
Why oh why can't the designers give a switched feed under the seat.
Its not as if I am unusual in wanting a comms on a BMW!
Going to the pub now for a well earned beer.....or two:beer:

No :-(
And the socket at the front is controlled differently than the pre-LC ones apparently.
Sam at Chainspeed said that the current draw of the Autocom would keep the supply from being switched off, hence all the faff earlier.....
I just hope my soldering doesn't break!

Mate there are hundreds of guys that have taken the switched live from the 2 fuses mounted under the seat with no problem.
But enjoy the beer if you've stripped her down that far you deserve it

I stood drinking tea whilst Sam at Chainspeed did mine :)

Had a nice ride over and back too, all in all a pleasant day. I also went to the pub for a well earned beer afterwards :beerjug::beer:

I know feck all about electrickery (road craft rider Does)
but it seems that the trick here is to find a switched live but not can buss ( think) and put a relay of some sort in or is it a trigger and the easiest place on the LC ADV was the live to the diagnostic plug

Any how Andy did a super job whilst i directed operations
