Well I've done over 36,000 miles on mine Ade, and it's been supercalafragalisticexpialidotous :thumb

Best bike I've ever owned, I use it everyday, rain and snow (I don't remember any sun!!) although my usual round trip is only 15 miles it get's used for longer runs when I get a chance. (200 - 300 miles in one go.) After around 6 months of ownership I usually start looking at other bikes ready for a change, this hasn't happened yet.

I've had the bike for just over a year and 6000 miles and nothing has gone wrong. The fuel pump was replace on a recall but I had no problem with the fuel guage before that.

The drive chain is still fine,
the top hose is fine,
the wheel bearings are fine,
the fuel gauge reads fine with the countdown to empty reading fine,
the engine hasn't blown up,

I thought the ignition lock was seizing up however it was just frozen, some WD-40 sorted that out for the next frost.

Oh, a little paint flaked off the rear of the swinging arm, we're talking 5mm x 5mm. I'm not to sure how well the finish would hold up to a British winter, I just keep the thing covered in ACF-50 and it's all good underneath.

It gets well used, I take it trail riding, with my skill levels I can't notice the alleged harsh forks, my rear suspension bolt hasn't bent, I could go on....

Have to agree, it’s a fun bike, well for me anyway. Besides a clutch and gasket problem, it’s been fine. I too us it every day, sun, snow and rain. Having said that, it’s due for its 12k service this Sat @ SLM (now Vines). Hopefully it will be even better after.:thumb

*I concur* 18K on mine, 15k of which is mine. Changing the chain too DiD heavy-duty from motorworks only main change bar the blingage]

Great bloody bike, can't wait to do some serious One-man & his pannier set touring of Europe this year!!

Yes, I agree it’s a gret bike but what are we comparing the bike with?

I mean what kind of bikes were we riding before the F800GS that makes it a great ride fr us?

It would be interesting to know where we all come from.

I rode a 650 enduro single for years and simply adored it. The smooth power, the reliability, the looks, the all terrain adaptability.

Rode my thumper all the way to Turkey and back. Even rode it on the dunes in Tunisia.

The F800GS for me was the natural step forward. Kind of a more mature approach to offroading and touring. The Beamer is great for that but a different bike all together to what I had.

..........still got 525 in the garage though!:hide

Got mine just over a month ago, done 1400mile on it and its goin great:JB

Apart from being filthy:augie:D, and 'that' seat issue (might have a look at sargent seat??:nenau)
