What bike/helmet cam?

Mounting the camera

Sorry guys for all the posts, half asleep and excited at the same time:confused:

Sam, I think I have already read somewhere that placing the cam behind the screen can pick up glare and distortions etc. So if I placed it on my crash bars for example and baring in mind the huge amount of dead wildlife one collects at this time of year - would you advise on a lens cover and will a proper lens cover cause any problems at all with glare etc? Do you use a lens cover your self?

Thanks again,

Chris.

I have always dealt with Roy at Rf Concepts - Good supply and choice of cameras. Just bought soem new camera mount stiff, Ram mounts, fixed to the front beak. Very stable, will post some pics if you want them . Remember my eths - Keep it simple.....

Regards

Nigel

Thanks for all the help/advice guys... it really is much appreciated (and needed). I've bit the bullet and took Sams advice on one of these on the strength that it looks sooo cool and sounds like a good bit of kit.

My problem is always the same in that once I've seen something that impresses me I wont be happy until...
I hope I get into it other wise someone might get a good deal. I've also gone for a seperate mic, a hard wire kit as well as other bits n bobs.
Looking forward to playing about and trying different mounting points etc. I'm going to try mounting it low on my crash bar to try and get a low shot of the road with the front wheel/tyre (I guess I've been watching too much t.v. moto GP etc), probably a helmet shot too. Not sure where to mount the mic to try to avoid too much wind noise? Ideas anyone? (and don't be rude, it's too windy there anyway).:augie
Thanks for your help everyone.:thumb

Sounds good Nigel, it would be great if you would be so good as to post some pics up please. In fact any pics you have with your camera mounted in different places would be a real help. This new POV I have just got is very simple. In fact I doubt it could be any simpler with one cable which screws into the POV from the camera via a real proffesional looking water tight fixing. It has a radio wireless switch to mount on the bars or where ever. It just seems to ouse quallity IMHO. Thanks again Nigel, much appreciated.

I got the equivilent from Dog Cam, and no it is not, but it's cheap:D

And I'm having some issues with mine, it sometimes hang, and the only way to resolve it is to remove the battery.

I can't remember the last time I was in the Black Forest, but I'd say that Morocco is pretty fun also .... (as long as you do not drop the bike)...:augie

Everyone suffers the indignity of dropping ones bike at some time... some even drop their brand spanking new bike on the driveway twice in the first day:augie Can you better that Casper?

I have to say no to that, as my bike is not brand new:D

My record was 9 times over 450 meters in the Ardennes (mud without nubbies is no fun at all).

This is the one I'm going to get:

HD170MAIN.png

Comes with a great range of mounts, is waterproof without needing an extra case and supports an external mike (which can fix the wind noise issue), has a built in screen to check where it's looking and reviewing footage, and comes with a wireless remote for starting and stopping recording.
