Just a quickie question...

Painting one of my bikes side panels Marrakesh red:bounce1 ( genuine BMW )....what colour primer should I use - no recommendation on the aerosol?
Guy in car accessorry shop reckons red primer but I'm not sure whether grey or red !!:(
Seeing as this section does the most spraying :D any 'correct' reccomendation ?

Generally reds are poor coverer's, ( take a lot of coats to fully cover primer )
So if you can put on a red primer, (or dark grey) it will help. :thumb2

Paintman.

Kenny, Cheeky twat. Im not sure if the marakesh red is a metalic colour or not. If it is it needs a primer, then a metalic base before spraying the colour. If its just a plain red I think it will just go over a base primer. I would guess bm used grey primer though.
Incidentally Ive just bolloxed my side panel. Did a pretty reasonable job on it I thought but then put the gold pinstripes on. made a reasonable job of them too and was a happy bunny, then I decided to laquer over the pinstripes, big mistake. I had used a humbrol enamel and the laquer just lifted the lot so its back to the drawing board. dont know if I will have to do the whole thing again .... we will see..:blast

Looking good !

Kenny, would you mind taking a pic of your R 100 front screen please, I need to get the blue decal made ,and need to get some idea of size etc,

they are no longer available from BMW , I've just had two tank decals made, they charged me £30-00 which I thought was very reasonable, they were £14-72 from BMW but they only had the left one :blast

Thanks a lot

Graham

Nice job Kenny, Looks like you got a good shine on the newspaper as well:augie.
