I make no excuses of putting this on here as I mainly belong to the 1200 section and this is where I have witnessed most of the problems. I have only been a member of this site since 2008 so still a baby in time terms. What I have come to notice in talking to other tossers and witnessing it with my very own eyes, is just how unfriendly it is.
I have spoke to people who will not even ask for help on here for the fear of getting the usual "Search is your friend" boll*cks or by having someone raise their post count by one more, just to have a pop. You call yourselves "bikers" but you are most probably a banker or a lawyer who watched the long way down and thought it was a good idea to own the bike and ride it on a weekend. The only problem is you look at biking and bikers as you look at your clients and have no relative sense of belonging to them, therefore will speak to someone else asking for advice in the same condescending manner.
I would, and have, gone out of my way to help a biker, and it's this sense of belonging that keeps me riding, the feeling of knowing I have an extended family out there.
I worked out the other day that a certain person on here that has belonged to this forum for around five years would have to post 8 times a day, 7 days a week just to make his total post count....FOR 5 YEARS!!! Guess what his post are like.....
......"Search is your friend" and posts to that effect. What is the point and if there is one I don't get it.
NO, I didn't get up on the wrong side of the bed this morning, this has been brewing for a while, however it's good therapy getting it off your chest
So I tell you what, let’s see what kind of biker this post attracts and we will see whether I'm proved right or whether I need to just move on.
What do you really think of this site?
