I make no excuses of putting this on here as I mainly belong to the 1200 section and this is where I have witnessed most of the problems. I have only been a member of this site since 2008 so still a baby in time terms. What I have come to notice in talking to other tossers and witnessing it with my very own eyes, is just how unfriendly it is.
I have spoke to people who will not even ask for help on here for the fear of getting the usual "Search is your friend" boll*cks or by having someone raise their post count by one more, just to have a pop. You call yourselves "bikers" but you are most probably a banker or a lawyer who watched the long way down and thought it was a good idea to own the bike and ride it on a weekend. The only problem is you look at biking and bikers as you look at your clients and have no relative sense of belonging to them, therefore will speak to someone else asking for advice in the same condescending manner.
I would, and have, gone out of my way to help a biker, and it's this sense of belonging that keeps me riding, the feeling of knowing I have an extended family out there.
I worked out the other day that a certain person on here that has belonged to this forum for around five years would have to post 8 times a day, 7 days a week just to make his total post count....FOR 5 YEARS!!! Guess what his post are like..........."Search is your friend" and posts to that effect. What is the point and if there is one I don't get it.
NO, I didn't get up on the wrong side of the bed this morning, this has been brewing for a while, however it's good therapy getting it off your chest;)
So I tell you what, let’s see what kind of biker this post attracts and we will see whether I'm proved right or whether I need to just move on.

What do you really think of this site?

I'm genuinely sorry that you feel that way, but I do understand what you mean.
I've been here for four/five years, and the 'feel' of the place HAS changed.
However, there are people here that occupy all walks of life, and so create a brilliant resource for info' There are some fabulously knowledgeable types here, and I have learnt so much as a result of their input.
Yes, I know, that there are those that love to post controversial comments, but we all know who they are, and just it's just water off a ducks back to most of us.

I have joined a number of other forums, and (honestly) not one of them has a patch on this place.

I hope that you stick around, filter out the crap, and enjoy it for what it is.

I know that someone will now call me a tw@, but I bet night follows day....:) :thumb2

What do you really think, no seriously.....?

I think if you'd done a search you'd have found a lot of threads moaning about this issue without having to start another especially in a technical section.

Also don't brand me as a "biker"

Thats what I really think, thanks for asking :thumb2

Me.. I like the site..and if truth be told like it when someone gets a bit "twatty" I can give right back at them... Like the banter... I am a twat of the first order though.. And I am a biker.. Love bikes... All of them.. :augie

Ilove the site. There are a few t*ats like myself, but then as said above,, you find that anywhere.

Some of the guys here are (have become) friends, I have received 9/10s friendly and useful advice - even the "use the search function" helps sometimes... Let's not be too lazy...

What I love most though is ranting... The Boll*cks section is superb!

If I had a penny.......... for all the mix ups, stupid posts and worse answers I'd be uery rich well at least 1.50 better off. But I have met people of all walks of life from vicar to villian and I feel that I am richer for it. I have bought bikes sold bikes ditto for clothing and bits. I have joined in with peoples good fortune and bad and even seen bad fortune turn to good. If someone dosent like the form there is nothing holding them. Personaly I think everyone has something to add and some of the f***ups are genuinely funny the pisstakes are brillo and when some pompas ass sticks their foot in it the thread can get long and intersting. So in short this is a brillent site enriched by everybody's input JJH

I mainly belong to the 1200 section

What a strange way of looking at the site.

Especially one that culturally avoids anyone 'belonging' to anything, it really isn't a club you know. :augie

As usual on these threads I point out that the people who stick around and don't get upset by any perceived slights are the ones that turn up to events and interact with other tossers over a beer or six. That way, when someone posts something that you find a little irksome, you can picture the fat twat laughing as he says it. :thumb2

Then you can get p1ssed off and flame him :blast

I think I agree with this. I also think that I have found the site very useful and have made some good friends through it. But everyone to their own?

Best thing to do is go and meet the ugly fat b@stards and camp out with em that's when you realise who you are dealing with and can start feeling sorry for em :comfort instead of lambasting them :blast

Also when you reach a certain age you realise that over 98.999999999 % of the human population are assholes, :rob

You know who you are in the North West section camping at Thornthwaite, gettting banned from site, Scousers Mancs, Warrington, Wirral, Penwortham, even fecking Oldham and one from Brum with Tourettes.

Well Feck me O'Riley don't I just fit in and luv it here, Stretch :D:D:D:D:D

I thank you, and rest my case:thumb

The "1100/1150/1200/800 sections" aren't for hanging around in and socialising. They are used for technical advice/problems .

And don't get upset on anyones behalf or you'll miss the joke. As you already have once in this thread :D

I find that the vast majority on here are helpful and constructive. Yes there are some knobheads in the neighbourhood who only want to cause trouble, belittle others, be negative and try to be as unhelpful as possible but you soon recognise who they are and learn to ignore them. A bit like real life really....the more their attention seeking is ignored the more they hate it. There's nowt that rattles as loud as an empty can.

Name them.

I largely agree with the original sentiment, but why not name the twats, I'll start:
Fanum
Proff

I think this thread belongs in the rant section.

Thought this was the rant section..... As for being helpful some are but there are some right belligerent twats on here that if they haven't got anything helpful to say should shut the feck up, no question is stupid if you don't know the answer. I have to agree with what GSRichie has said, ask a question and people just rip into you

well here we go
