What do you think of your dealer

As the main protagonist, I will cover the base points for you, nice & slowly. You prehap's weren't able to decipher what I was bringing forth in my thread.

1) I had received further mail from NQG, title of letter been somewhat dramatic, making me worry momentarily over the state of my safety! Previously calling them on the phone...stating I do not wish to be contacted with regard to mail-shots.

They proceeded to inadvertently annoy me, by ignorant & wasteful advice instructing NQG not to fall foul of unsolicited mail; "I like to do my little bit to save the planet, so by virtue saving them paper & in my minds eye, a bit of a tree." Which is why most business I deal with I stipulate I do not wish to be contacted by mail.

2)Now that they had broken my verbal commands, it was open fking warfare. Well,.. it was good to vent some annoyance back at them. Whats an oil-filter between friend&foe,..ow about £15. No charge for removal of bash-plate/nuts under engine area were still covered in dirt??!??..that's because it wasn't removed. As Matt stipulated in the email reply (out of the blue/due to my thread) "if it is part of the service that the bike is booked in for "...which would clearly add credit to my claim of been charged for something that didn't & in-fact wasn't changed.

3)My alternative was to have a rant on here, bringing up a sore issue. I'm on plenty of other forums, but keep bmw related subject-matter, here on ukgser. I wouldn't go out of my way to belittle people's enjoyment of north-oxford-garage, however it is always worth been the noisy cog once in a while.

Ah, so that explains the reaction of the dealer concerned:rolleyes::augie

Is english your first language? :nenau

I'm happy to say that in 11 years of GS ownership I've never handed any BMW dealer a penny:)

Edit: and never will!

Congratulations Tim :thumb

I've spent thousands with my dealer ... and know that I will never miss a ferry or be without wheels ... ever ;)

And as most of you will have noticed I've finally coughed up my subscription -& Micky said it would never happen!!

Well I never said it would it would never happen, just thought that it never would :blast

Welcome to the fold Leigh :thumb

I wondered if maybe you are posting from a Blackberry or i-Phone or maybe something with a non QWERTY keyboard?

Why do you keep referring to NOG as NQG? :nenau

The temptation to reply is very strong, but I resist every time. I usually find that my friends on here defend me when necessary.

A couple of years ago I got a right slating from someone I had tried to help with a part exchange deal. The fact that his bike was worth less than he thought was obviously my fault!! I was a little upset ( yes, salesman have feelings too), but 2 or 3 guys on here soon set the record straight.

I think you may have missed the point on this one Tim. Surely the thread is aimed at those that use dealers?

Many people use dealers to various degrees. I do some things myself on the 90 and 1150, somethings I need help with (not to mentioned certain parts, MOTs etc). My dealer is Southport Superbikes, I wouldn't dream of going to another one, such is the service I've had from them over the last 6 years.

From the few dealings me and the wifey have had with Linds in Norwich I can honestly say they have been great! :thumb2 Always a nice greeting and free tea / coffee is always a winner. Wouldn't hesitate in going back there. :clap

I am really pleased with Cannon these days. The current manager, Keith, is a decent chap too. I believe he was at Coopers in Tunbridge previously. Bill has finally decided to take a back seat and let the manager manage, and it has made a big difference.

Just one (small) example of good customer service lately. I was after some keys for my airhead panniers. Motorworks, Sherlocks and Motobins said individual keys were no longer available from BMW and I had to buy complete locks with keys, and even these would be randomly numbered. This was made more complicated as they were the early Krausers but had the locks fitted from the later BMW ones, so a bit of a hybrid.

James at Cannon was also unsure but once I showed him the part numbers etc he was on the phone to BMW and spent quite some time getting me these "unavailable" keys, for the princely sum of £7.

Saved me well over £100 in lock replacements so paid for a big chunk of my next service with them.

Cheers,

Matt :thumb2

Happy with Chester Motorrad!

Had several bikes from them (and a couple from the HD dealership next door) and always received great service.

Cheers for asking Martyn. As I thought a total mind **** of an exam.Out of 15 eligeable candidates only 9 of us according to the training school have actually had the bollocks to put our skills to the test. One lad was in tears last week as just buckled under the pressure.
Didn't appreciate the 4& a half hour drive back from Reading though.
As for the outcome I won't know for a couple of weeks, not really sure . Won't be upset if I haven't as you lot will still be targets of my wit, sarcasm & general piss taking.
Will still look after everyones bikes to the best of my ability
