What don't you like about owning the new LC

It's intermittent, sometimes silent other times a horrendous clunk, depends how the cogs are lined up at the time the lever is pressed I guess?

Not just me then, cheers.

I tend to pump the clutch a couple of times and never rev the engine before engaging 1st, that helps. Force of habit from owning a old Brit bike!

This is a complete load of biking junk unless your a hairdresser or mad accountant.

The final drive seal leaks, the fuel pump goes AWOL and the suspension pogo's down the street. Did BMW forget it needs brakes? They are atrocious like they have been designed for a mountain bicycle .

It's top heavy and is built to carry a Sumo wrestler and his chef. The styling would win it a prize at the Ugly Bug Ball.

It's got a terrible drink habit and struggles to get to 150mph.......useless. Plus it hardly carries 3 months luggage.

Come on it's a complete Tractor and will never sell outside of Fortress Germany!

While you are more than welcome this thread isn't in fact discussing the K1600 :thumb2

It's hard getting used to the clunk when putting it into first gear - it doesn't sound mechanically sympathetic,

If it's any consolation, Bike tested a used beemer (was it an R1200S?) a year or so ago and described the noise of selecting first as being 'like pushing a fork lift over in a hanger'.... It's all part of the design brief.

I dislike the fact that

It is much lighter than the 1150GS
The power is too much going from 85bhp to 125 BHP
The fact that it now does not look like a pig

It has LED lights. I really liked having to carry all those spare bulbs when I went abroad

I like the fact that it's 20% down in power on the class leader and has been designed with a low seat so is ideal for dwarf hairdressers to pop to the local cafe on a Sunday morning at 11 am ,having been up since 9 am making sure all the plastic is nice and shiny.

Ah bless.

With those criteria, no wonder you're happy :thumb2

Do you have the matching rallye 3 suit? I bought mine and it matches the paint perfectly. I also bought some great matching gloves, boots and helmet, the dealer was brilliant, he gave me 20% off a bmw neck warmer which meant that it only cost £59 :bounce1:bounce1:bounce1

I do however really have a massive issue with the lack of a key fob for my alarm :mad::mad: I'm considering petitioning government about BMW producing bikes that aren't fit for purpose! How is an owner expected to remember to navigate though the computer to turn off the Alarm. The thought of a flat battery on the road of bones thanks to not remembering to turn off the alarm....well the consequences don't bare thinking about!!!!

Brilliant. :D

I thought the idea was to ride the road of bones - not park up for two months.

If you are prone to making derisory comments on the LC at least come up with a sensible comment not alarmist waffle;)

Does anyone know if this GS1100 ABS system will fit the new LC?:augie

No, it hasn't got any ECC83 valves in there but you might be able to receive Radio Moscow on shortwave.
