Hi, this is a daft question but was just wondering if it matters whether i run my F800 GS on 95 or 98 super unleaded? I've been told various things, generally that either is ok, but recomended to use 95 as its cheaper and performance increase using 98 super is minimal.
I was under the impression they ran on 98 super but you could get the dealer to re-map the ecu to run on 95??
Any thoughts would put my mind at ease.
Thanks.

Runs perfectly fine on 95, and I didn't notice any increase in milage or performance when I chucked in a tank or 98.

No idea what standard the fuel was in Spain or Morocco but it ran fine there too. Most modern injection engines will run on all pump fuel, as they constantly tune themselves to the point of knock for maximum performance / mpg.

Bung in whatever you can get and just ride the thing! :)

Thanks for reply. Will stop thinking about it and continue to put the miles on it. :D

The manual recommends 95 or higher i think the dealer remap is more for countries with really low rating

I run mine mostly on 98, no real gains in performance or economy, it just runs sweeter. Better pick-up when overtaking. I now put 95 in for the boring motorway bits, then put 98 in for the twisties.

Thanks for your info, will follow v8legends rule of thumb too.
Cheers
