What grease should I be using on the drive shaft gaiter?
The manual suggests a while silicone grease, is it a BMW only thing?
Thanks

I use texaco moly horrid black shit on mine never been a problem it's just to keep water out I think , http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/251354946521
I've used it for a couple of years now on the joint and I smear it all inside swing arm as well just to try and keep any corrosion at bay :thumb2

the proper stuff, and its very good as rec by bm is
staburags nbu 30 ptm,its a very thick sticky grease and very water resistant, available on ebay, the stuff recomended above by comparison is runny shit:thumb2

I don't understand. You've asked what grease for the gaiter? Surely 'none' is the answer? Or have I missed something?

yes you have missed something:D,where the gaiter sits on the fd housing the grease is used to weather proof and provide a seal:thumb

Ah ha! Ok. Clear now

Don't think this is spec'd for the 1150? I definitely didn't use any. Is it special to the 1200?
