Fitted some PIAA 510s from NN over the weekend and was amazed I got it all wired up and working fine (and they look great!). But, went to use the bike today and it wasn't keen on starting and is very lumpy at low revs, the exhaust is also much noisier and pops when you come off the throttle sometimes. When I was fitting the lights I didn't take off the tank (don't know how!) so drained it and tipped it over to the right a bit so I could get under it. I wondered if I had pinched a fuel line or something but the bike runs fine when up to speed and doesn't seem down on power (It's a 2000 1150). I've lifted the tank again and all seems fine under there. Any ideas what I might have done to it? :(

Hi Woodie,

Have you checked the throttle cables as they go into the throttle bodies? Sometimes they get misplaced when you take the tank off and don't seat properly. I'm sure someone will be along with a pic soon.

Type throttle position sensor into the search engine, it may be that, think there's something on it in the owners manual as well. Hope that helps :thumb

Provided the bike was running fine before, logic says that it is something that has been displaced as a result of lifting the tank. I too would suspect the throttle cables seating. You could try checking the throttle balance - might give a clue.

Please let us know the final outcome.

Regards to all,

It's working!!!!

Cheers guys you're stars! :bow When I got home tonight I had another look and saw the right hand cable was slightly out so popped it back but didn't think it was very relevant. After previous comments I've just gone to start it and it sounds normal again! :) Might pop out for a quick ride tonight to double check (that will be a good excuse to the boss anyway!) :bounce1 :bounce1 :bounce1 :bounce1
