I am limited in my choice 'cos I've got a fat 'ead! (XXXL)

Got a Held Takato Enduro helmet (excellent) with autocom fitted.

A Shoei XR1000 in black, v comfortable, possibly a little loose.

An HJC Half helmet for the cruiser I haven't got anymore:blast

I'm lookin for a flip up helmet in XXXL with built in retractable sun visor. Tried the system 6 BMW but my chin got in the way!

Looking at a Scorpion EXO 900 Flip, anyone got any experience of these???:nenau

I suffer from fat head syndrome as well, and I now have the new shark evoline, and I have to say its a cracking good helmet.

Schubert C3 (cannot recommend it) which is leaking, drafting, and noisy
Shoui Hornet DS - just picked it up today, so I don't really know how it is

Arai Quantum E, great helmet but fecking noisy. Fog city insert is starting to get misty in the rain.

Looking at a system 6 but reading here about system 5's and C3's being poor in the rain is a little worrying. Going to try the system 6 on in a couple of weeks and at least see if it suits my head shape.

Noisy Quantum E surprises me, as mine was whisper silent, although I did have the Arai 5 star service custom fit the padding, which makes all the difference. I never need to wear ear plugs in any of my Arai's.

The C3 was quieter out of the box, but the quality of the thing was average to poor IMHO.

I think you either have an Arai or a Shoei shaped head:rolleyes::thumb

i got

three of these, but 2 are up for sale. ;)

Roof Boxer

Any long term Roof Boxer owners out there? How do you rate them especially in this frosty weather.

The new Boxer V8 looks good.

I had a Caberg Trip for about a year but have retired that as a spare. Eventually I just found it too noisy and at high speeds life savers were particularly scary as the visor would flip open! I do miss the built in sun shade though. Very handy!

Now I have a Shoei XR-1000 in deep matt grey. Much quieter, much better made and much less draughty.

Gonna pick up a white Shoei Hornet as soon as I get a proper off-roader.

I've been using a Shoei Multitec for the last 80k km and am still happy with it.
My next lid will be a Shoei again but not a flip-up design.

Shubert S1 Pro

In the sun and heat it has good ventilation and the built in sun glasses are brilliant.
In the rain it doesn't leak or steam up.
Freezing fog we had a couple of weeks ago it did want to steam up a bit but only in the city so I just opened the visor a notch and it was fine.
Sub zero same as above really but less so and if the visor is kept closed at lights it soon clears when you move.
In general its very comfortable and cool in the heat but warm in the cold providing you keep the visor closed. Its also pretty quiet but I still wear earplugs on long or fast trips. I did try an Arai with pinlock which I nearly bought at the time but went for the S1 over it purely because of the sun glasses. All helmets should have these.
Had a Roof Daytona before and it leaked, steamed up was drafty and noisy as hell plus it generally fell apart over one winters use. In short it was a terrible helmet!

Tosser and poseur?

Probably both: When riding particular bike use particular lid:

Africa Twin + Shoei Hornet DS with amber Pinlock 10/10

BMW K1200LT + Shoei Multi Tech with Autocom kit so can listen to the ipod/CD changer/FM RDS /Mrs

FZ600 in black + Craft RX8 with black visor

1979 Honda CB750KZ + Davida jet +shades.

BMW....

System 5, which is nice and light, comfortable, dosen't leak in any rain conditions and the dual visor stops it steaming up.......:D

Hat

Blue & White Arai GP-5X

Very, very comfortable - and with ear-plugs in 'tis quiet as feck :D

In the rain quite a bit of water ends up running down the inside of the visor, but appart from that....

Been wearing Arai for best part of 25 years - love 'em!!

Helmet

Caberg justissimo in white, but I think Santas bringing a new Schuberth in silver I hope :augie :bounce1 Garbo :bounce1
