ive been holding my breath for so long now LOL, it would be nice, detuned to maybe 90bhp and with big midrange

BMWs big advantage over other makes is the bikes can be given an extensive road test to see if you like it. I have taken dozens of test rides from my local dealer and they never pressurise me into buying (Allan Jefferies) Take your time and have a few rides, if you have no bike at the moment its a good way to keep bike fit.

Think you may be right chippy. I still have the 800GS and a KTM 990 Adv demo booked for Tuesday. Much to my surprise I actually miss the 1200GS loan bike as it makes my 800GS now feel rather small and a bit slow. To make matters worse, when I went to collect my 800 after the service/recall a new sales guy shouted "excuse me sir, what are you doing in here". It turned out to be a friend who now works in BM bike sales - a very dangerous combination. My wish is to keep the 800 for a second year but my heart is pulling in different directions right now. Hope the wish wins this one.I think dealers do this on purpose, give you a more powerfull bike as a loaner,so you enjoy the extra power more, then go back and change your bike for the bigger more powerfull bike, are you back on the 800 now,or chopped it in for 1200.

Sorry, you have passed the point of no return, Once your heart rate stops rising as you get ready for a ride out or you start to miss things your bike cannot do you just know its time to change.

If so I last saw you on a run out when the Versys forum were camping in your garden. I had just collected my F800gs and was running it in over the weekend. I got a bit of stick from the Versys forum when I left (My user name was Msut01) with comments about reliability etc but the bike has been 100% so far.
