What is it worth

Hmmm, when I posted a similar subject about valuing my old GS (about 2 years ago) I was told by a moderator that it's all subjective and had my thread closed on me - Did I do something wrong?

Anyhoo, I reckon I'd offer £4000, probably stretch to £4300

My current GS is 2003, excellent condition and had 11k miles on it when I bought it for £4850 last year.

You're is older, slightly more miles, but the thing is, mine was exactly what I wanted (blue and white, silver engine, luggage, ADV screen and close to me), so I spent a bit extra.

It's be tempting to tell you it's worth £4500, but frankly it's worth what someone will pay for it and I reckon you'd struggle to get that much.

As the guys say, you really should see if you can keep it - it's a lovely looking bike and seem in great nick - ones that nice are hard(er) to come by!

Also, extras make NO difference to the price, unless you're looking at 2 identical bikes at identical prices.

Good luck whatever you do - looks like a cracker!

If one had to go.....I could always replace my 1200 (if I had the cash) but my mint 47k (which I collected new in Jan 02) 1150 is irreplaceable to me.

Fixed it for you, Mike

Very true

I'm in the same boat, with my Silver 2005 1150GSA:blast

I rode a 2006 R12GS yesterday, all day which had 24k on the clocks and whilst it was ok and pretty nippy (feeling like a trail bike, compared to a 1150GSA)..............it did nothing for me (and that is in essence why I ride a bike)

So because my 2005 Silver 1150GSA, is irreplaceable to me only (we've had some great trips and memories)

I bought this on Sat, from Rainbow................to share the duties (that's why the R11RT is for sale:P)

I've finally realised i'm only a GS type rider and road orientated bikes (17" wheels), don't suit me really:blast

don't forget that when you 'trade up', you'll then have to spend more beer tokens on all the extra farkles that will personalise it 'to your taste'. You are talking about a huge investment in cash, for little extra benefit.

I've an 04 GSA (not as good a condition as yours) and was thinking about changing, but to be honest simply reading this thread has convinced me that what I really want is to keep the GSA for normal riding & touring, and to buy a cheap smaller bike (250-450) for back lanes and off road. That way I can be stupid and not care, but also have a great bike for everything else.

So just by reading this thread I've probably save enough money to 'holiday' with the bike for the next 7-10 years.

Cheers

Like the new ADV JB but tbh I prefer to share the riding experiences over a variety of bikes. For me the 1150 does it all and i won't be parting with mine any time soon but still love a spin on the Suzuki as i love the whoosh factor that no boxer engine will ever give.
I'd love to add a HD to the collection but need my lottery number to come in

I have my 1150 GS for day-to-day commute and a KTM Duke II for tom-foolery.

Considered shopping them both in for a 1200GSA, but I think I'll be sticking with my two for a while.

13,600 in nine years:eek:

Keep it until 20,000 miles when it should be run in at least. You should get there in about 3 years time if past performance is any guide to the future:)
