After searching the Haynes manual front to back and back to front I cant find WTF this adjuster is. located under the off side rear sub-frame

My mates bikes now back almost in one piece but it does run and its now got a clutch that transmits power to the rear wheel

does anyone know the initial factory setting for this - no of turns out from fully in, for instance ??
