What is the 'cheapest' sat nav??

I've had both the Quest 1 and the Quest 2. Trust me when I say that the Quest 1 is the better of the two. Granted it has less memory but it's easy to load the maps along your route and it's very reliable. The Quest 2 (and I've had two of the poxy things) lost satellite lock at the first sign of a tree and had a painfully slow screen redraw rate so that I ended up riding off the screen. Not such a drama on the motorway but in town a total pain.

Quest 1 :clap

Quest 2

Though I now use a Zumo 550 and it's :thumb2

Is there anywhere you can still buy the quest new?

That's the way to do it.

Re mount. As I said, there must be a part to go into the lobster claw clamp.

Here's a picture:

Here you go:

Google: quest ram mount 1200GS and hunt around. Touratat do some, or contact Ram-man of this parish.

The image of what comes/being offered has the u-bolt bracket missing, so RAM-B-231Z and LHS clocks onto oval rail, add RAP-319 shim into 1" u-bolt (part of same kit .. its in the bag). I would opt for short arm, so double ball (aka the Tossers butt plug  and 3" arm) are not used in this new setup.

If touring and to power then look at QPAC (maybe QPAC02-35 from www.gpsw.co.uk under gps cables section) assumes you've a power socket on the 12GS beak.

Still a few *new* Quest 1 models around (not white box) , Garmin cleared them into the dealer channel, did get an option of them but its another story and one w***ker kyboshed it for everyone.

Touratech had some (at their prices) but a trawl on the web anything better than £129 is good.

Ram man,
Cheers for that.. I do not have a socket on the beak? is there a longer power cable needed?
Someone has a TT cradle for sale that is powered, I will check if this for the beak or not.. Are the TT ones really expensive when new????

cheapest I can find is £239 and theres one for £549!!!

Got a semi decent phone? save yoursen the cash of buying a satnav and run it on there. I use mine everyday and it works a treat, saves having someone else to have to worry about and itll cost you maybe £20 for a bluetoothed gps unit if your phone doesnt have it inbuilt. TOMTOM and european maps can be downloaded for free!
