I'm asuming this was a serious question....

If I got a new GSA, I'd seriously consider it...I think they are better if you tour with luggage..makes it easier on the clutch. And on occassions in the passes I've often smelt the smell of burning clutch as I pulled away uphill.
However when I was looking in my local dealers at the 2010 model, I was asking about the enduro gearbox...and he said 'there's no point in them, we don't sell any with them on'
I was actually hoping the demo bike had it on so I could compare the difference...but of course it didn't
So I'm still none the wiser to whether to get one with or without or not???

can't see the point.
i have the standard box, tour two up in the alps regularly, spent many happy hours on the back roads of corsica that make the alps seem tame, don't pack light. never had a problem
if you can smell the clutch in such circumstances, you're doing it wrong.

I ordered an enduro box mainly for the low speed manouvering. Will it work? Who knows! All I know is it didn't cost extra though it has made delivery a wee bit slower

A bit like the dealer I spoke to....he won't sell any/many cos he's not really selling them the idea to the new owners as a product...and probably won't be stocking them as an option either.
...so unless you walk in a actually ask for one with the gearbox the subject probably won't come up....
....and if you do want one you'd have to wait cos it'll be a special order no doubt.
But on the subject on is it worth having?......I've not seen one definative thread on here that says one way or the other....is it the new 'what oil?' ??
The enduro box is (in my opinion), only worth getting if you go off road. Thats what its there for - better control on the loose stuff at slow speeds. I don't buy the argument 'it helps my hill starts' or 'slow manouvering in the car park'
, its an off road tool, and completely redundant if you only plan on sticking to tarmac.

So, off road only? How so? I don't buy that at all.The lower gearing should in effect be useful for all low speed manouvers.
Having only had the 06 that I put in ageist the 2010 gsa on Friday ,for two months
I decided to get the new one with the enduro box .
I found that the standard box was a bit tall in first and now have defiantly made the right choice .There is a good bit of difference I can now drop it into first roll off the throttle and it just ticks along at a much gentler speed ,where as before it seemed to wont to just run away. It makes manouvering at low speeds a joy with out having to feather the clutch
And yes they do not sell many with the enduro box . I went to Oxford BMW two weeks ago and wonted a grey one to be told that there was only one left in the uk but it was yellow , so I had them change the panels .
Picked it up Friday at 4 pm and had it back at the shop for the first service 9am next day then rode it home to SW France
