the only options worth having are the enduro box,on board computer and alarm, everything else is over complicated tat that will at some point let you down

To be honest an alarm is a waste of time, people just dont react to alarms anymore.

Hmm,

opted without the onboard computer this time. Thought it was a piece of shite on the last bike. I know when it's cold and the fuel calculator thingy was off it's head.

The enduro box is (in my opinion), only worth getting if you go off road. Thats what its there for - better control on the loose stuff at slow speeds. I don't buy the argument 'it helps my hill starts' or 'slow manouvering in the car park' :blast, its an off road tool, and completely redundant if you only plan on sticking to tarmac.

Bollocks. It makes a huge difference when filtering in heavy traffic (and slow manouvering be it car park or not). If you spend a lot of time on London you'll know what I mean. It allows much more slow riding with the clutch out.

Have had both 2 x 1200GS's without Enduro Box and have 1 with it.

Enduro Box every time, off road or not.

Bowser, your on my page. All those extra bits only go wrong when your up to your waist in the deepest muddiest hole you can find.:thumb2

I was chatting to a dealer about the enduro box.1st gear is lower but the rest are the same as the non-enduro box.
One of the reasons i dont like the 1150 ADV was the loss of the overdrive 6th in that "enduro" box.
If you do specify the enduro box on the 1200,is the bike supplied with wire wheels and nobby tyres as part of the package?.
This question applies to the previous 1200s as well as the 2010 version.

Sad but true, however it will give me the opportunity to open the garage door and throw my dog at any body who might try to nick it though:augie

Wire wheels can be specced on a GS but are standard on GSA.

Enduro gearbox can be ordered without the knobbly tyres or it can be ordered as an 'Enduro pack' which will have the Knobbly tyres as well.
