Any recommendations on specific model of boots for off roading?

Also recommendations on what to look for in a boot in terms of features or the way it fits?

And finally what are the best price places to get a pair?

Thanks in advance :thumb2

Strong, comfortable(ish), affordable:thumb

Sidi, Alpinestars etc.

This isn't directly relevant to you, but I found it very difficult to find womens' size motocross boots when I did the BMW O/R skills in 2009. Since we were going to be riding on unmade roads in Alaska that summer, it was worth me buying boots rather than hiring ...

I found DirtBikeBitz to offer a good compromise between choice and value for money. I bought Thors.

Whatever you buy, make sure that it's got a rugged sole (not smooth like a road boot). There's nothing worse that slipping up in some light mud and finding yourself flat on your back.

I like Alpinestars - but whatever brand you choose, get into a shop and find out what size fits you. Then you can get on-line and buy that brand/size pretty safe that it'll fit.

Don't bother getting 'waterproof' boots - use Sealskinz.

I use Sidi Sabers.
Price and performance are good.
Keep the stitching treated with nikwax and don't clean with a pressure washer, and you'll not go far wrong....:thumb2

Sidi adventures, waterproof, and comfy from the first day:)

Very nice they are too, no need of breaking in, but probably not quite as protective as the non-waterproof SIDI Crossfire.

Alpinestars for me as the thing I found with most other Leather boots is that when they dried out the leather always went rock hard and deformed in shape so you could never get your foot back in without a lot of messing about and then it was uncomfortable until the leather got wet and loosened up again

Yes I know you could cover them in dubbing when dried etc.. to combat this but its a lot less messing about with the Alpinestars as they always fitted like a glove from the outset of every ride.

just my 2p worth

Lotta soul

Greg's right about the sole.

Enduro boots and motocross boots look similar... but the soles are different. My boots are motocross style and if I'm on mud, they're really slippery. the conditions that will bring your bike to a halt are the same as those that will defeat your boots. So go enduro, and check for good grips.

I also agree with the Sealskinz comment - when it's not wet, non-waterproof boots are generally more comfortable, just use the sealskinz if it looks like being a wet day.
