Can any one tell me if a 1150RT box will fit an 1150GS and also if there are any other boxes that will go onto the GS.
I assume if it is hydraulic clutch it will go on, although ratios will be different.
Cheers, Rob.

May be wrong here but I think all 1150 boxes are interchangeable & have the same ratios with the exception of the GSA which has lower 1st & 6th gears and some (mine for instance) regular 1150GS' that have the lower 6th from the GSA.

I think that the bevel box / final drive ratios are the same on all the oilheads with the exception of the 850, which runs a lower ratio to give it a bit more oomph - once agin could be wrong here, Steptoe probably knows?

RT gearbox has the same part no as the GS.

I've seen an R1150RT on eBay from someone who has had a fire & is breaking the bike. You can contact him at: zedmoto at aol.com as I enquired about the wheels & he emailed me back.

No connection to me, just passing on the info.........;)

PS: I managed to get a spare 'box off ebay last year for £52 inc delivery :D

Cheers Paul,
I'd already clocked the fire damaged e-bay bike which is why I posted the original question.
He wants 350.00 for it which makes your 52.00 a bargain.
I'll hold out and try and find a better deal.

Yeah, I thought he was asking top prices for the stuff. Mine was certainly a good buy, but I've also had a set of three spoke alloys for £150, an Adv tank for £170, a set of near new Hyperpro F&R shocks for £160 & a set of F&R ABS Goodridge brake hoses (new & direct from Goodridge) for £57. Ebay rocks as far as I'm concerned.

I’ve bought a few oilhead gearboxes – IMHO £200 is a fair price. As already mentioned, try and track down a fuel stained warranty replacement – the black ones hardly show the stain. Good luck:thumb
