Hi

I have just bought a 2005 1200GS off a family member waitng for thr riders manual. Can any of you give me the setting of the rear suspension i need for 2 up with luggage
Thanks
Andy

Fully loaded, thats me, the Missus, Full Panniers, Full Top Box and Tank Bag I have the Pre-load a couple of turns back (anti-clockwise) from maximum and the Damping Screw 1 turn back from the "stop". That works for us with our Tourances at 36/42. (never touched the front)

Im 14 stone & girlfriend is 8 stone, (but she makes up for it with luggage space taken), suspension / tyre settings same as Mike Tee, you just have to make adjustments until you find what works well for you and your style of riding and roads being ridden.:type

I have mine set at fully soft on the front all the time (except track days, when I notch it up one or two clicks :D) and the rear preload set around medium. i don't take much when "fully loaded" anyway, probably 15 kilos at most, and with my G/F on the back I only turn it up one or two clicks again. If you are happy with the settings riding normally, try it two up as is, then wind it up a notch at a time if it feels as though it is wallowing too much.

I run mine about mid way on rear preload one or two up (I like the faster steering for one up). Never touched the damping or the front. Few extra clicks rear preload for when the luggage is on as well as a passenger.
The settings in the manual are rubbish. Their setting for one up will have it dragging it's ar@e like a dog with worms

Two peeps and all the luggage:

Rear preload full in.
Damping up 1/4 turn from where I like it solo.

Front preload on 2nd hardest (run it on 3rd solo).

Tyres 36/42 (as solo).
