OK. So I had a look under the seat primarily to see if the bike had a K&N filter fitted (It doesn't) but then I noticed the disconnected wiring connectors and followed them to the back of the bike. Can anyone enlighten me. (1st image below)
Continuing on the weird discovery theme.... in the fusebox where the Motronic relay goes, it looks like terminals 87 and 30 (2nd image) have been bridged. Why? It's all very confusing.

The first picture looks like some sort of booster plug temp sensor.

There used to be a chap on the forum (I forget his username) who sold aftermarket chips to go into the Motronic module and it required those two connections to be bridged., so I suspect that is what you have. Somebody on here will remember his name I'm sure.

That space isn't for a 'motronic relay' - it's for a cat-code plug (CCP) with bridged connectors inside a casing that looks like a relay. Which pins are connected determines which fuelling/ignition map is used. People commonly bridge the connectors with a wire to get their desired map as it's much cheaper than buying a CCP.

Thanks Sproggy. 👍 I have since read the entire thread of Steptoe's CCP Mod and now have an encyclopaedic understanding of what's going on there. :)
Bike's running bob on so no need to faff with anything.

If all ok id file the wiring and forget... also the original CCP is basically a connector anyway... If these old buses are running well then leave well alone and service as required...👍
