what to clean the down pipes with .........

quick question what is the best stuff to use to clean up the down pipes on a r100gs?

downpipes

Proff melted one of his red tie down straps on the downpipes of my 100 (engine running) a few yrs back.

Watched him clean them up like new with an oily rag top trick!

Says he does'nt clean his but you can see him here just goin to wash the shit off in the bogs

I had a set of really manky stainless ones,I took them off the bike,and set about them with a wire brush in my black & decker.A bit of elbow grease and they came up like new.
