Already have two bikes with Autocoms on, the older ones which don't have noise cancelling headsets. Soon to add a third bike to the garage :) But what Autocom to get? Could get one of the 2008 ones, Super pro-avi, but they only seem to be available with the noise cancelling microphone and old ohm speakers. Or could spend a bit more cash, and get one of the new Logic ones, but then I'd need to get another helmet as the speakers are different. And as SWMBO could be on 2 out of the 3 bikes, she'll need to mirror what I have.

If I go for the Logic one, then I could upgrade the others in time and sell off the older ones to help reduce the cost.

So is the Logic vastly better than the older ones?
Is it sensible to upgrade the systems, even though I've never had one of them fail?
Why is orange jam called Marmalade?

BTW not interested in going for alternatives, eg Starcom, as I need / want three units, and three of those isn't the sort of money I want to be spending at the moment.

I'd get an old 2008 Super Pro Avi or a 2009 Super Pro Automatic if your budget will stretch.
I don't think you have to use the noise cancelling part of a newer headset (£6's worth) and even if you did, it should not interfere with the older sets.
Richard will no doubt correct me.

The irratating bit is the speakers. Changing them has obsoleted the whole of the pre 2009 range. To some extent buying the pre 2009 versions almost seems like throwing money away as they're effectively obsolete.

I have been told you can just disconnect the ambient noise sensor if used with no non-noise unit, but is the noise sensing anything worth having?

The sensors control the systems auto VOX and volume so they are a must. The latest Super Pro AUTO runs a different sensor to the Super Pro AVi btw.

Thanks, decided to go for a pre 2009 Autocom active so that I don't have to mess about with helmets, thanks for that info, I thought they might be 2 way compatible :blast
