Hi all,

The master cylinder on my '94 1100 has a leak and I have bought the repair kit for it. I've read how to change the piston and the boot, but I have also read that there are different ways of bleeding the different types of ABS brakes.

Can somebody tell me how to tell the difference between ABS types - and give me a definitive method of bleeding them once the piston and boot have been changed?

Oh, and what size the crush washer in the banjo bolts are!

Many thanks,

DA

It's simple = You have ABS - Not servo , but plain and simple ABS.

You may not need to bleed the brakes if you keep the bars to one side so the mastercylinder is tipped when you remove the piston.

re-assemble with the new piston, fill the reservoir with brake fluid and gently squeeze the lever - air bubbles will pop up, keep doing this gently until they stop, then move the bars from side to side a couple of times and wobble the brake hose by hand from the mastercylinder and squeeze gently until the air bubbles top.
