ok all i am sure it has been asked a thousand times but here we go, views on the best all round tyre, mainly road work.

my bike has metzer and i have never used them before but thats what came with the bike

Actually, prob. more than a thousand times.................... :comfort

What do you want your tyre to do?

All tarmac?

Easy trails/fire roads?

Mud-plugging?

FWIW on tarmac I'm sold on the Avon Azaro/ST combo and will be using Heidanus shortly for some off road.

Best thing to do is run a search on a few key words, make yourself a brew and sit back and read :)

Unlike many questions asked on here, the answer is simple and unequivocal - Dunlop D607. It's all the tyre that anyone could possibly want on a GS for mainly road use.

Knackers!

Buy the cheapest reputable brand you can get fitted.

If you're owt like me you're not good enough to tell the difference.

I've had Metzlers (Tourance), Michelins (Annakees) and Avons (Distanzias) and I'm back on the Tourances because I got a decent deal on them..

Got Conti TCK 80s on mine, had them for 300 miles now. Amazing trye, you can tear around a stubble field and up and down dirt tracks then ride quickly on the road. Been out today first time in anger on dry roads and was more than impressed.

all good comments but now i am confused, used 020 on blackbird excellent, conti atacks on 1100s, but i agree i am not as good as the tyre evenif its a C**p tyre.
