Unless offroading, cast. The wired are a pain to keep nice. Cast just wipe down.

I have the forged and they are so much easier to keep clean....but I really didn't need them, I just liked the looks. But I notice on the UK BMW Motorrad configurator that they are no longer an option. So no longer available presumably.
The forging process makes them much stronger than cast, probably a better option taking into account the shite potholed rds we now have.
Forgive me if I missed it, but my understanding (according to BMWs propaganda) is that the FORGED wheels could be used for offroad as well as road.
I was going to get a set as I prefer them as well for all the reasons people give above. Indeed, I had CAST wheels on my 1200, but they were a €1,000 extra on the 1300 (you got to keep both sets). Hearing that BMW has stopped selling them due to possible liquidation of the manufacturer makes me want to go rushing to my dealer in Valencia and see if they have a set lying around.
