What you really, REALLY don't want to see when you take a plug out :(

Hasn't been running right for a while, but on Saturday morning, on way to Somerset for family 'do', it suddenly stopped firing on LHS......no major bang, crunchy metal noises or anything, just wasn't firing.....

The fuel pump had been making a louder noise than usual for a few days, so I had my fingers crossed that it may have got blocked and that this 'non firing' may have been related to that, but the injector was squirting fine.

Carol Nash got a recovery van (S.O.S) out to us in less than 25 mins, so we were impressed with that, but any hope of s less serious problem went south when i took the plug out a few mins ago :tears

Haven't taken it any further than this....but i'm not a happy bunny :tears

Ah well......could have been a lot worse I guess...we were doing 85ish on the A12, two up, so a nice gentle internal munching was preferable to a sudden, wheel stopping seizure I guess

Hi!
Sorry to see the resulting mess.

Someone in the advrider forum had a similar problem and posted a large thread about the cylinder rebuilding work he did.

Maybe that helps in the attemp to fix.

Can't remember the user name, but I'm shure a little search will lead to the post.

Good luck

!

He's american, large drawn out overlong needless threads are compulsory.

I just replaced all the damaged parts with used items. :D
