I'm thinking of adding an Adventure tank to my std GS and yes i know they are like rocking horse poo and hens teeth, but I'm in for the long haul and can wait... a dented one went on ebay the other day for about £350..... what does the collective think is a fair price to pay... and does anybody have one knocking around!....i guess a new one is out of the question.. Any one with any ideas how much?? yes, i know i could phone motorworks or a dealer.... but this is easier.... also the dealer would give me a straight answer and i enjoy the general flack and don't be a twat style comments...........:beerjug:

Last year the when I was considering this the cheapest I saw was £400 and that was a bare bones... I thought long and hard and in the end simply bought a 'never used' 1150 tank for £40. To be honest as its unlikely I'll ever venture beyond europe an ADV tank is a luxury I simply don't need. I certainly don't need one enough to justify the expense.. plus a respray etc.

I wanted an adv tank on my GS - There was a guy selling a couple on the FS&W section last year for £350 which i missed out on. Now, If I want to do a long journey and not want to hunt around for a filling station I just load up a couple of 5L jerry cans into the panniers and keep the speed down below 75.

Still looking for a bigger tank though ...

The only thing about ADV tanks is if you fill 'em up (rare), there is a noticiable difference in the C of G, especially at standstill...

thanks all for reply's and also the opportunity to buy one!!.... (now that did surprise me!) i must admit they all seem to be priced from £350 for a shitty one thats dented to £500 for a clean one...

TBH i do not want to spend that sort of money.... so have decided to leave well alone........... as mentioned above i only tour in Europe and can always find petrol.... although i have had a few close moments (in france on a sunday) on more then one occasion!..... happy days! thanks all for help, advice and the insult!

I have my "moments" 'cos i always think "just one more stop" and it doesn't matter how far i have gone since the last fill! Old courier habit I think and even with an ADV tank i would do the same twattish thing...:D
