Under the rhs trim panel of my '09 GS there are some sort of brackets (for the lack of a better word), clearly meant to hold some special piece of kit. But what? It puzzles me to the point of keeping me awake at night... You can see it if you stand in front of the bike and look up to the side of the fork, under the beak.

probably the space for the carbon filter (anti pollution gizmo) used in other markets

oil

holds a bottle of oil my friend or wotever ya wanna put in it

You're probably right about the carbon filter. Hard to see from the fiche, it only shows the unit separately.

Good place to keep oil, tools, your favourite contrabande or whatever, but how do you keep it in place? Not even TouraTech seems to have made anything that fits here.

Or this...

Bottle for mixing fuel and oil from the local Garden equipment shop...£1.00
You get them for Chainsaws etc..
Mine had a little rubber strap, all I did was replace the fixings with thumb screws...job done..

The design for the carbon filter thingy location is different on a standard GS compared with the GSA - I have not seen any clever ways to mount something in the standard location yet.

Thank's for the input, guys. I plan on having an epiphanhy during the winter, and will post genius solution in the spring!
