As per title contemplating putting my 2014 (64) plate R1200 GSA TE in against a new GSA, bike is totally standard , 14,000 miles on the clock with 4 service stamps in the book , immaculate condition with zero corrosion and recent tyres .

When it goes in it will have had new front and rear shocks and switchgear (under warranty ) and currently has 12 1/2 months test.

Just wondering if anyone has part exchanged a similar age and mileage bike recently into a main dealer and what were they offered ?

i think with the new GSA out (TFT Dash ) you will get a shit price for yours .....TBH is there any difference from yours against a new one ? colour ? Dash ? is that it? Id wait at least another year before chopping in . you might get more haggling power then. Or wait till the last week of the sales quarter when they need to hit targets .

I recently part exchanged in a 64 plate GSA TE for a 2016 Triple Black GS

The GS was up for £12995 and it cost me £2k to change :thumby:

I traded in a similar 14 plate GSA TE (same mileage as yours) in May and got 11k for it against a new 17 plate GSA.

It just depends on how willing they are to do a deal. :thumb2

For what is worth, I've just traded in a 2014 Triumph Explorer XC for a 17 plate GSA TE, got £7.5k so a 14 GSA would certainly be worth more I reckon.

I recon £10k as did similar deal for a new Rallye 3 months ago, ask for a bit more or a bit of discount off new one, I think I got a half price Nav6 in the deal..

Chopped in my 2015 gsa with similar mileage for £11.5k so I think you'd be looking at £10k ish.

Doesn't matter how much they value it at, the important figure is the cost to change. Only you know the amount you're prepared to pay to swap your bike, if the deal is within this range jobs a good un.

Do remember that diesel vehicles may have little value in the not to distant future.

Thanks for the info, nice to have a bit of a heads up before speaking to the dealer , I had a rough idea of how much to expect .

Main problem is the same dealership offered me £6000 for my 3 year old 2011 R1200GSA TC (full maxton suspension, luggage , immaculatee with 11,000 miles and FSH) when I bought the LC in 2014................. sold it private for £2000 more after keeping it for another 12 months

Been looking in the last few days with a similar age/mileage GSA, about £10k - £10.5k, might appear to be a bit more if they have some movement to discount the new bike. Shop around, the recent deals between dealers have varied by around £500 - £1000.
