Well.. due to personal circumstances I am having to think seriously about selling the GS.. But before I do I want to get an idea of what she is worth.

2002 BMW R1150GS single spark

Has ABS and Heated grips as standard

Has std BMW hard panniers and Baglux tankbag and Harness

Bright yellow, fitted with adv beak and H&P engine & tank bars.

Touractech hard part (front steering lock stop).

She had new tourance tyres about 5000 miles ago, And was MOt'd at the start of July so about 10 months left... Tax till dec (i think).

Currently got 50800 miles on the clock, with pretty much full srevice history... She was last fully serviced in feb by Cannon's BMW @ approx 45000 miles..Who also replaced a faulty ABS sensor, new hall sensor etc.. cost about 1k in total! I have since changed the oil and filter once.

As with most GS's I've seen the engine paint is not pristine round the front of the engine, and the fork legs are showing signs of salt.. But she's solid and looks good when polished..

So.. any thoughts on what sort of price I should ask?

Dealers have offered approx 2800/2900 to take her away.. But I feel she's worht a bit more than that!

I sold one two years older, less than half the miles, no luggage, no fork pitting or other corrosion, for a bit over 3500 last year.

There are quite a few 02 1150's for sale with between 10-30K (MCN, Autotrader, eBay, etc). £6,000 down to £3,500. The ones in the £3,500-£4,000 seem to sell but probably not for the asking price, the £4,000 + ones seem to stick for a long time.

Looking at trade prices, anything you get over £3,500 private or £3,000 trade is reasonably good under present market conditions.

Cheers for the thoughts...

what I think I'm going to do is put her up for sale at £3300 no offers...

If I get that price I'll be happy to sell her... If not.. I'll keep her.
