Hi everyone i seriously considering buying a new R1200GS I've had the test ride and wanted one with decent spec . So wondering what's the best deal you know of just now? Any advice would be much apreciated .

depends who your local dealer is and if they've hit or not their sales targets for the month. There's deals to be had but you might need to travel a few miles.

Plus how are you paying the cheaper the bike gets the more it costs in the long run.

a dealer who cuts the cost to shift the bike looses the servicing costs they hope to harvest from you over the years of ownership. If you role up with a bike bought from another place the local dealer may treat you differently from local trade. As your seen as not having any loyalty it's hard to know which way to turn hope that helps.....:augie

I agree, I think I've been offered a good deal from local dealer £10400 for a new bike with Dynamic and Premium Pack and Panniers. I've no experience with BMW bikes or prices hence my question :thumb2

I would say make a few phonecalls to shop around/ due diligence and all that then way up the odds it's important to have your local dealer onside incase you need help.

it can mean you pay abit more but you'll get it back with interest as I've found with my dealer over the years.

Best of luck

New R1200GS SE

I'm taking delivery of a new R12GS SE from Alan Jefferies on Saturday. Speak to Simon Sayer there.

I got a considerably better deal through them incluing part ex on my 06 R12GS than I could through a more local South London dealer. Close to 4 figures better.

All done over phone/email. Simon very pleasant and down to earth and true to his word. Most pleasant vehicle deal ever.

Servicing is a very slight concern. First service at SLM for example will cost £250 rather than £99 if I had bought through them.

No connection with Alan Jefferies other than satisfied customer.

FatBastard,

I live in North Yorks but recently bought from Motorrad Central in Glasgow as they were the cheapest by a good margin. They beat Jeffries by around £300.

If you're quick they are doing a £500 clothing/accessories voucher as well as free panniers till 30th Sept on R1200GS's

I dealt with Andrew Purdie in sales

Ring them and be cheeky with what price you want to pay, try and get as near to 10% discount off list price as possible.

Just paid £9995 for a pre-reg bike from Jefferies with the same spec, although I had to beat them down from £10250 + £465 for the panniers using a quote from Williams in Manchester :thumb2

Has anyone had a look at a recent options list? Do you know what the upgrade to wire wheels costs or how much they'd be as parts items?

Your a lucky man they don't have any left :thumb

I've just sold my 990 Supermoto yesterday so I'm trying to do a deal on the Demo bike with Premium and Dynamic pack etc.

Think that might have been the bike I was offered - it was a good deal (good spec) but after having problems with my own and the warranty been running on the pre reg from February 09 it meant I wouldnt have the std warranty left. Salesman said he could sell me a warranty but it defeated the object of changing to a new bike.

If you are thinking of a new bike,i was told last week that there are very few left in the country.
Those that are available are all registered to dealers, which means that if the dealer of your choice has not got one he can only ask another dealer to supply him a bike,he cannot demand it.
If you are nearly "there"on a deal and just looking for a bit more, what has worked for me in the past is to go for some free servicing, not immediatley beneficial but it is in the long run.
1st service included in the price is good.1st and 2nd is brill.

Don't wait to long or you'll miss them.

Steve
