What's the best way to listen to radio on bike ??

I'm going to be installing a Starcom on the bike and I'd like to be able to use it to listen to the radio occasionally. I did think that my Nokia 2730's radio facility would suffice but the reception is rubbish, even when walking, and it seems from what I've read, everything else is too, unless you use something like the Pure Highway. Good as that may be, it seems a bit pricey just for radio reception. See that seems to be the trouble with technology - just 'cause it has a facility, doesn't mean it works proper, so there's no substitute for good recommendations I say, hence my interest in hearing your solutions to "radio on the move". I intend to replicate BMWRover's most excellent set up (if that's ok Mr Rover ) housing all electrics in my tank bag. I need the solution to work alongside my phone, mp3, (and satnav when added), through the Starcom.

I'm guessing that your going to have a wired headset in witch case my suggestion is useless but when i used to commute this was the only reliable Way of listening to the radio i fouud without spending loads of money. So if radio/phone/satnav is you main objective then this is the way to go

Well,

tried a few variations, had a small grungig FM radio in my handlebar bag for a while which was wired in to an Autocom System, then moved on to a Scala
G4 headset with built in FM. In both cases, the signal drops and can be rather distorted in town. Currently using the Tuned-In radio app on my Iphone, which im sure is available for most smart phones, wired in through the mp3 plug on the G4. It gives crystal clear reception all the time and covers around 40k channels worldwide. Best set up i've had yet.

Sit on it in the garage with the radio on, that's the only time I listen to the radio on my bike.

Tape radio to helmet, insert earpiece, turn on, tune in, drop out.

Iphone speed sensortive volume ajustment.

There is a app on iphone called Adaptunes, this adjusts the volume according to your speed and parameters set.

Surely radio on iphone would be reliant on 3g signal i use radio box app on mine.
