What have BMW done wrong, other than recall his bike, and hold on too it longer than he thought they should have. I had a clutch replaced by Ocean whilst on holiday on my 1100 a few years back. I only got it back on the 5th day. It went again on my way up through Wales, and I nursed it home, all because they didn't replace the cause of the problem, not the clutch, but a leaking seal, in the gear-box linkage. When I left it in again, at my home dealers it was away nearly a week, got it back job done. Another 5 years ownership, problem free.
When the Citreon Picasso first came out and I bought one, I had a recall happening on it once nearly every 2 months, I don't know why I bought another one, but it was still getting recalled for faults to be fixed, as frequently as a few years later. It would appear this is a frequent happening through-out all aspects of the industry. I personally wouldn't be rushing back, demanding this and that, I don't believe you'll find service different anywhere else.
