I just had a new rear tourance cos the poxy council arent sweeping the roads anymore, and copped a bit of steel wire in a 500 mile old tyre, bugger. Another garden swing.:blast
I just paid £124 from sidcup motorcycle tyres for a rear on a loose wheel. He said a pair was £234 fitted inc vat.
Back in the summer at the hog raost i think i paid £190 pair.
have things gone up that much??

Tourances

they are available from approx £160 for a pair front and back, from places like James Sherlock, Busters, Minemoto, My-Tyres dot co dot uk, the german suppliers send the tyres within a week and being a German product they are able to sell them cheaper :thumb2

Thanks Lads

I'll have a look into buying a wheel balancer as well i think, watlings can fit them, but bizarely cant balance them.
Thanks for the info.Paul
ps keep it coming if you have any more news.

balancer

Has anyone found a balancer kit for the bmw rear wheels, you need an adaptor in the kit like this, but most of the kits just use a simple cone arrangement, i was worried that if i ordered the adaptor it wouldnt fit a normal balncer due to differences in the shaft diameter.Paul

"Has anyone found a balancer kit for the bmw rear wheels," Nomad I have a balancer, live just the other side of the Dartford crossing, you are welcome to take it away for a few days or even a week or two to use, as long a It is returned in good order. Dave.

Thats very kind of you for the offer.
Ive had my tyre done now, and tbh i was trying to short circuit the system and avoid paying loadsa money for tyres and balancing.
I'm ringing round a few suppliers and trying to see if we can get a really good deal if we order amongst ourselves say 20 pairs of tyres.
Most car places can fit the tyres and then its a case of balancing them, but the bmw rear wheel needs an adaptor.
Can you see where i'm going with this.I'm just fed paying thru the nose for tyres, car tyres are half the price.
And the amount of debris on the roads, this problem wont be going away anytime soon..

In ten years and well over 100,000 miles, I've never had a rear tyre balanced on a GS, and never noticed any vibration.
