What's the range of your Arse ?

I tried the adjusting the seat setting recommendation, front high, back low - top tip :thumb
I normally last a GSA tankful - just

Make sure your shorts haven't got seems in your ares cheeks. The more you ride the easier it becomes... I can do some big miles by end of the summer...

I have got the rally seat on mine, and I find it a lot better than the standard seat but not as good as the Sargent one was on my last few GSA,s
I did put a few miles on the rally seat one day in june

I brought a used 2014 GS at the beginning of the year and was looking forward to taking to the Black Forrest, Germany as last time I went I was on an MV Agusta F4R and my arse suffered! but the GS was no better, which was very surprising as its sold as a touring bike? so whilst in Germany I went to the Touratech factory and purchased there seat and had a nice comfy ride home!

When I got back I did see that BMW have the cheek to sell a 'comfort' seat for the GS, so they know there is a problem and its just another way of making a few more bucks!! surely a comfortable seat should come as standard equipment??

I totally agree, logic dictates that BMW are saying the bike as standard comes with the 'uncomfortable seat' option if they have to offer a comfort seat for more money

No problem with 400 mile days on a standard bike - the secret is cycling shorts. Before this discovery I was uncomfortable after two hours.

Everyone's arse is different so there can never be a consensus on what is a comfortable seat - all my 1200 GSes since 2005 have been good for 500+ miles; it's the rest of me that becomes too tired to carry on much beyond that.

The range of your bladder is a consideration, when you get past a certain age. :D

Range?

Almost 3 octaves on a good day - but it depends on what i've eaten the day before.

...............
I tried this today and it works well. However the overall seating height feels too low now, will have to find a way to raise the front of the seat instead of lowering the back.

If you just have to do the miles and have no choice, a rolled up tea towel (or similar, tee shirt, whatever) layed across the seat, enables you to move around any pressure points that might be forming on your butt cheeks.

I found the air cushion type pillow good , air hawk I think, this was excellent, i found it raised the standard seat too high so i ended up using the low seat & air hawk combo, very nice but i still ended up using the movable pad trick on a couple of the more lengthly journeys.

I just do what I can to get comfortable then get on with it!

Yes I used this method on my sportsbike trips to into Europe but didn't expect to need them on a tourer?

On my F800GS I have a Corbin seat, which is 3 hours, no problem or even fidgeting, with the air hawk Ii it's a tankful

Many years on sporties.

No problems at all with my arse as weight/pain transferred almost everywhere else instead.:)
