Whats the result if you don't do IT?

What I wonder is the effect or outcome if you have had the battery disconnected and you don't go through the ritual of ignition on, fully smoothly open the throttle twice before starting??

I have seen many threads saying you need to do it but what happens if you don't?

So all you gurus of Bmw is there a real answer?

I certainly didn't do that and didn't notice anything untoward happening (or not)

it only lets the motronic know the throttle range - it'll do it naturally over a period of time once you use it .

FWIW, i ran mine for over 18months without a reset. The battery was disconnected several times during that period for various reasons. I noticed no difference. Until recently. When I found out about the reset procedure, a couple of weeks ago, I noticed a definite improvement in running, along with an as yet unconfirmed improvement in fuel consumption (I'm working on that).
Do a reset if you want to, but don't get hung up on it, is my advice

Cheers
