Wondered if I could pick on your collective experience regarding the right price for my 1100 GS?

She's a 96 model in Black, lovely condition,MRA screen,Hepco and Becker crash bars, hand gaurds, light gaurd, oil cooler gaurd,Bmw luggage, recent service, part service history, had clutch and main seal replaced, bevel bearing replaced, tensioner's replaced,71k miles and drives lovely, tax runs out end of the month and going to put 12 months Mot on her, bought the bike from my local bike shop mechanic who looked after her himself.

I'm only selling the bike as bought a tourer due doing a long commute with lots of motorway work,I'd love to keep both bikes but the boss with the big stick won't wear it I'm afraid!

Any advice would be much appreciated as would only want a fair price and not to rip anyone off.

My apologies if I've offended or broken a rule anyone as genuinely not posting an advert,I thought with all the experience on the site I'd get advice on a fair price, the reason for including details of the bike are it has lots of extras and wanted an idea of their collective worth, knowing many guys on here will have bought them in the past. The reason i posted was as a result of seeing a similar request on the touring section where advice on a price was offered for an owner contemplating selling his bike. I will be putting the bike on biketrader for sale so will advertise it on there when I have an idea on price.

The response is deafening guys,I hoped for some genuine advice as the guy on the touring forum got from the site,oh well never mind,I hope you all have a safe and fun rest of the summer and enjoy these great machines.Paul.

If you subscribe to the site £12, put up some pictures, you'll get loads of responses and advice worth far more than 12 quid.

I'd start off at around £3200 and haggle a bit from there. If you can't get at least £2750 for a clean 1100 you'll just just have to keep it :beerjug:

I've sold a few 1100GS with all the luggage etc, usually around £1800-£2200.

Sold an 1150GS, 36K miles and with luggage for £1800 a year ago.

Thanks for the replys guys,I appreciate it,that gives me a good idea of her worth,I may well subscribe and place an advert on here as sure a GS'er would appreciate the bike, would love to keep her but the Taliban is none too happy with my latest purchase! Desperately trying to talk her round but she see's no need for another toy-women they just don't get it do they!!!

I'd go by eBay prices, around 2750 I'd say. Even rough ones are going for up to 2k and if yours is a clean one I'd say you'll get around the 2.5k mark. Welcome to the site, oh, ignore the moaners!!!

I sold my 98 model for £3250 last year, but it had 44k miles ish and tons of documented service history, hepco & becker 3 piece luggage, HID, 2 or 3 recent AYB ACF50 treatments and was very clean with some other farkles. It was also in the faster and more pleasing Kalahari Yellow :D

Allowing for yours being older, more miley, part history and not yellow, I reckon yours may fetch £2250, but as ever stand to be corrected. Just my 2p.

Thanks again for the info guys, those prices seem pretty reasonable for her, she's in good condition and rides lovely, had all the usual issues sorted so will make someone a great bike, gutted I'm going to hav to sell her.
