Anyone tell me what this screw is for, is it to do with balancing the throttles? It's the hex headed one with a slot in it on the right hand throttle body assembly.

No it isn't, don't touch it! TBs are balanced above idle using cable adjuster only.

It is pat #22. labelled "ISA screw". It sets the idle stop position for the butterfly valve. Do not touch, these are set in the factory by mystic elves, no-one knows how to deduce any better position than the one they are in. There should be a rubber cap on it to avert curiosity.

There is what looks like a cap in the corresponding place on the Left hand side. When I was watching the BMW mechanic do the balancing he was tweaking it at idle and then doing the cables off idle.
My understanding was that the idle motors each move the same counts to maintain the RPM and this screw is for balancing the bodies at idle. I can't see how the steppers can adjust the balance as they don't have any feedback sensors.
The bodies are probably set at the factory but can be adjusted as they wear.
