Can't believe I've never noticed it before/don't know what it is - I thought I knew everything :P
I started to undo it to have a little look, and fecking oil started coming out! So I done it back up didn't I?!

Does a breather spill out into here? Why?

and PS, before you start, I am referring not to the spring, or the preload adjuster, but that little upside down screw-in cap you can just about see :D

I need to know as well. Only found it cleaning the bike (stop it at the back, I am one of the few that cleans my GSA) this weekend.

HHmmmm.........

I'll consult the repair manual and see what the crystal ball reveals if owt.

That's the bottom back of your airbox - so drain it is. Nothing actually drains in there, it's just for oil that finds it's was back through the air system on overfill etc. Or water you may have got in there.

It`s a drain plug for the airbox.

The crankcase breather should be plumbed into the airbox,so any oily air gets pulled back into the engine and not pumped out to atmosphere.

Thanks. Collector it is then. I knew the crank-case breather was connected to the airbox, but not the airbox was connected to the whateveritscalled. Best I get back out there and get it emptied then! It's full of (suspiciously very clean looking) oil.

Indeedie - that's the bit of black tube going into your airbox at the top front OS corner, with one of those useless BMW can't ever undo them clips on.
