wheel bearings bmw or other brand

just picked up a set of cast wheels for the project they are going to be powder coated so i will need new wheel bearings and seals ,are the bmw just another make branded or is it worth just buying them from motoworks or nmotobins ,as i am not sure the pattern number or size etc to order unnamed (non bmw) .
so really what i am asking is bmw ones or another brand if so what brand ,and where

FAG make good bearings. Reckon you won't go too far wrong.

BMW don't make wheel bearings, they use any of the available brands FAG, SKF, NSK, Timken, Koyo etc.

If you know the size then t'internet is your friend.

You will need to shim those wheel bearings up.

,,just had a look (briefly)at a post you put on adv rider it looks complicated ,ill pay some one to do it have not looked at it properly but unless its something i can buy over the counter with the forks ive got i will sell all of them and buy a different front end

Plus one for FAG. As Rob said you will need to shim them for the correct preload. It might be a good idea to read up on the subject as it is not just a matter of taking the old bearings out and put new ones in if you want to be sure it is done correctly. Some info here

This may be worth a try if your bike is pre monolever.
The bearings are taper roller (up to monolever I think) and you could leave the outer races in place in the hub. You could mask these with discs made of metal or wood and secure with a studding rod and nuts being careful to ensure that no blasting medium can get at them. After refinishing you could then repack the inners with grease, replace the seals and not have to worry about reshimming or new bearings.

yes just taken them out and they are taper roller bearings ill just take them to steptoe to do, i may try masking up the races with metal and a studded rod

i have just tried reading the article on preload and bearings and have deciced i will take them to a shop
